i haven't written in my journal in such a long time. i am very naughty!
another new year, though, with good intentions. right now i'm taking a break from working on a new painting, which is going well. it's been a little while since i painted, like a month or so... although i have been drawing in the meantime. i finished a couple of new paintings in the fall, and i took pictures of them with my new digital camera (thanks mom and dad!), but then battery died (doh!), and i'd forgotten the recharger in minnesota (oops). i should have it back soon, though, so it won't be long until i can add them to the site.
so, in case you didn't notice, rusty's many prolonged efforts finally paid off, and we've got somafm back up, including my indie pop rocks! station. yay! we need to start doing some serious fund raisers soon, so we can pay the RIAA/CARP fees (bastards), but we believe it's all doable thanks to HR5469 finally going through. whew. i'm so happy to have my station back. and lots of folks all over the world are happy to have somafm back. i love seeing this kind of stuff:
Wow... just wow. The first streaming audio station that plays music that makes me feel like I'm 20 (40 now...) again. the echo of The Clash, Costello, XTC and Joy Division and a thousand others I grew up with can be heard everywhere, and I LOVE it. Indie rules, all else drools.

anyone who knows me most likely also knows that i'm rather opinionated, and unafraid of telling anyone what my opinion on any given subject is. for example, i think that SUVs should be illegial. seriously. and today i found out that not only am i not the only one with this opinion, but there are lots of reasons why SUVs are evil. so, please, people: do *not* go out and buy a fucking SUV. you're smarter than that, i know you are. and don't give me any of that 'i don't live in california so i don't give a crap about mileage' bullshit. thanks!
