He looked out the window Hopelessly.
i have been horrible about updating this.
i had a fantastic trip to italy and france, which is the last thing i wrote about. my mother and i drank far too much wine, met crazy polish poets in irish pubs along the seine, wandered through beautiful walled cities in tuscany, got lost (repeatedly) in venice (which is never a bad thing), were rescued by kind belgian taxi drivers, and learned how to cook amazing italian food. there were adventures that at the time were stressful, and there were lazy days spent wandering through the louvre and d'orsey. it was all good. how could it have been anything but?
noisepop is this week! yay! i *love* noisepop. i'm working the merch table for a bunch of the shows, and just attending a bunch more. i just got home from the unicorns show, which was very cute and fun, even though it made me feel really old (i think the band members are all about 18 or so!).
i've also been really busy with a lot of other stuff, like painting, my radio station, trips to minnesota to visit the family, the family coming to san francisco to visit me, ridiculously cute new boyfriend, birthday fun, rock shows, parties, etc... i have a zeelion new projects not-so-patiently awaiting my attentions, like several in-progress paintings, a desperately needed revamping of elise.org (it's been almost *three* years since i redesigned it last, ack), building an indie pop rocks! section for the somafm.com website for my station, getting a design completed and to the printers for indie pop rocks! t-shirts, as well as getting other somafm t-shirts made, and i need to get my shit together and have a proper show soon so i can sell some paintings to finance the round-the-world trip i want to go on in may/june. i'm sure i can do it all - if only, perhaps, they made it so each day had 28 hours instead of 24. or maybe i just need to learn how to sleep less.
the station really is doing incredibly well these days. i started a campaign to find lots of unknown new bands from all over to play, and i'm going to start cutting way back on the old stuff and playing lots more new stuff, which i think is going to be huge. i've been getting slews of cds in, and a lot of them are good - a surprising percentage, actually. i'm really impressed by the talent that's out there!
oh! and i cut my hair off, finally. and i did this weird cleanse thing for the month of january, where i didn't drink or have caffeine or sugar or flour (or anything good for that matter), but it was great. made me feel all energetic and bouncy and stuff. very unlike my usual january-hermity-crabby self.
and least i forget, i'm djing again at the casanova, as i have been, 3rd wednesday of each month. this upcoming month is march 17th, which also just happens to be st. patrick's day. please to come down and hang out! (i know, i know, you already have plans to go to all the irish pubs, but if you get tired of those...)
