sxsw and other joys
yeah, i'm a loser, since i never get around to updating this thing anymore. i haven't put up any photos of new paintings in years, i never write in this journal anymore... i mean, everyone's a blogger these days - it just seems so pointless. or something. i did, actually, complete a new design. but, i haven't coded it up yet. [note: now i have! this is the new design!]
in my defense, indie pop rocks! has been taking up an incredible amount of my time. i used to work maybe an hour or so a day on it, but it has now pretty much become a full-time job. i even cut down to part-time at my day job so i have more time to focus on it. we're in the middle of working on a bunch of cool new things, like podcasts and bulletin boards and a SomaFM site redesign.
i just got back last night from sxsw. it was fucking amazing. i did interviews and station ids and such all week, met a ton of really great people, and saw A LOT of fantastic shows. i still feel all aglow from it, and i'm feeling withdrawl that it's over. there were so many highlights i don't think i could even begin to list them. i even took a few pictures.
noisepop this year was also great... i did lots of interviews for it, as well. spent a lot of time hanging out with my favorite indie rock friends and making new friends. it's kinda paling in comparison to sxsw at the moment, but it was a really great week.
i'm still djing every third wednesday at the casanova. you should come down if you're free.
since the last time i wrote: i went to ny for halloween - it was great. had a wonderful time. went to mn and wi for xmas, which was COLD, but fun anyway. went to tahoe for alicia's bday (pix coming soon hopefully), which was very relaxing. went to yosemite for a wedding - it was beautiful, and more fun than i expected. went to LA for molly monster's bday (every year something different! something unexpected!), where we attended the price is right (yes, that's right, with bob barker). our episode will be airing on april 4th, if you want to catch it. our friend john cook got called up, where he managed to get the exact price on the bid, and then went on to win his prizes, which included a mop set and the ugliest bedroom set ever. we were very proud. (molly's pix, rusty's pix) ...it's too bad i never get out of town, huh. such a dull life. :)
